Our charitable aim is to provide a 21st century hub for learning based on the principles of Patrick Geddes, a pioneering town planner who held a deep concern for the environment, and a passion for education and conservation. It is very fitting we are based at Riddle’s Court, which Geddes occupied for many years to set up and run his own unique learning and community centre. To deliver our activities we rely on volunteer support and philanthropy.
We have managed to restore Riddle’s Court and give it new life but we still have further work to do through its learning programmes and in its surroundings.
As a charity, we do not receive core funding and generate our income from our activities and donations. With your help we can do more.
If you would like to help please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Partnership With Us
The Patrick Geddes Centre values its partnerships with organisations big and small to foster learning based around the work of Patrick Geddes.
From collaboration with the Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh in delivering events on Geddes' interest in Botany and his contribution to plants in the Gardens, to publishers supporting the launch of publications encompassing Geddes, the Patrick Geddes Centre seeks to help promote learning through cooperation with others.
The Centre is also keen to explore sponsorship and funded learning programmes addressing particular topics or tackling specific problems, and is always keen to hear from interested parties.

WE COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU
Volunteering at the Centre offers you the opportunity to share knowledge about the work of a remarkable Scot, learn more about the topics and issues to which his work has given rise, meet lots of lively visitors and gain the inside view on one of Edinburgh’s special places.
Depending on your skills, interests, and available time we would look to offer you a volunteer experience that works for you: guiding guests round the building; providing brief talks on key features; help fundraising activity. Working alongside our Educational Officer, or even researching a marketing opportunity, you will be surprised how we can put your talents to good use!
Your input in helping showcase the many facets of the Centre will be appreciated by the hundreds of visitors we receive every week, and help to support the work of the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust.
