We run tours around Riddle’s Court, and walking tours around the local area. Come and explore a 16th century merchant’s house or learn about the buildings and gardens nearby that were created and influenced by Patrick Geddes. We are also happy to design a tailored tour to suit your requirements; whether for a special interest group or a party of friends and family. Come and discover one of Edinburgh’s hidden gems. Life and times of Riddle’s Court
An illustrated tour of the 16th century merchant’s house, and the many colourful characters who have left their mark on the building.

Geddes Land Walking Tour
A short trail of the Lawnmarket buildings looking at the influence and intervention of Patrick Geddes. Including the Outlook Tower, Ramsay Garden, Lady Stairs Close and James’ Court.
£12 / £9 (conc) 1 hour

The Geddes Experience
The definitive Geddes experience incorporating both the above Tours with a 30 min break at our own café.
£21 / £17 (conc) 2.5 hours

Tailored Tour
Designed to suit your interests; subject areas could include the conservation of the building, or a particular aspect of the building’s history. Duration and cost by arrangement. Please let us know what your requirements are and we will do our best to give you a memorable visit.

Our Learning officer has devised a range of hands on lerarning experiences here at the Patrick Geddes Centre. We offer 3 proven 90 minute sessions aimed at primary school children which explore the fascinating history of Riddle’s Court and develop knowledge and skills aligned to the Curriculum for Excellence:
